Over the past twenty-five years, acclaimed international bassist, singer, and composer Avishai Cohen has grown into one of the heavyweights of contemporary jazz, with a catalogue that rivals even the most legendary figures in the jazz world—and beyond. His captivating live performances, unique sound, and powerful musical voice are widely recognized across the globe, attracting large audiences, listeners, and devoted fans. Cohen’s music has shaped and influenced many, and today he is acknowledged as a singular composer and a boundless musical influencer.
With his new trio, Cohen will present music from his latest acclaimed album Shifting Sands (May 2022), performing fresh original compositions alongside fan favorites and selections from his extensive musical library. Shifting Sands showcases the special alchemy that characterizes Cohen’s music: expansive and fresh melodic lines, diverse and sophisticated rhythms, and a musical elegance that only he can achieve.
Cohen, long known for his role as a mentor and promoter of outstanding young musical talent, once again brings remarkable new energy to the stage with this fresh and youthful trio lineup: Guy Moskovich on piano and drummer Roni Kaspi.
At just 26, Guy has already established himself as one of the most sought-after pianists and composers of his generation.
Roni Kaspi, born in July 2000, recently graduated from Berklee College of Music in the U.S. Her musical connection with Avishai Cohen began during the lockdown in early 2022 and quickly developed into a strong bond that led to her being invited to join Cohen on tour.
